Clinical Psychology Special Event
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Nov. 4. The Psychology Department and Psi Chi are sponsoring an invited lecture by Dr. Gerald Davison from USC. Dr. Davison is the author of the best-selling Abnormal Psychology text with John Neal, Clinical Behavior Therapy, and Case Studies in Abnormal Psychology. He will speak at 2:30pm in the TSU theater. There will be panels of mental health professionals in Orange County, information about studying clinical psychology at CSUF, and alumni of the clinical psychology graduate program at CSUF.

Welcome New Faculty
We have two new full-time faculty joining the department in Fall 1999. Dr. Bill Marelich will be teaching advanced statistics and other classes. His Ph.D. is from Claremont Graduate University. Dr. Marilyn Davis will be teaching courses in our clinical psychology master's program. Her Ph.D. is from Brigham Young University. Welcome Bill and Marilyn!
Dr. Segal's Twins Book
Congratulations to Dr. Nancy Segal on her new book published by Dutton, NY.
ENTWINED LIVES: TWINS AND WHAT THEY TELL US ABOUT HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Dr. Segal will be appearing on Dateline, Tuesday, March 30, at 9PM.
A story on her studies will also appear in the OC Register on March 30.
She will also hold a brief talk and book signing on Saturday, April 10, at 7PM at the Borders Bookstore in Brea, 429 S. Associated Rd.
Shyness Book Published
Shyness: A Bold New Approach by Dr. Bernardo J. Carducci has just been published by Harper Collins. Bernie Carducci is an alum of both the undergraduate and graduate psychology programs at CSUF. He currently teaches at Indiana University Southeast. Congratulations to Bernie!

Two speakers will be visiting on Nov. 10 and 12. On Nov 10, Clarice Veit (Rand Corp) will speak on
"Motivating Breast Screening Compliance: A Decision Barrier Model for Elderly Latinas."
On Nov. 12, Scott Hershberger (CSULB) will speak on "Biological Influences on Sexual Orientation".
And a big farewell to Dr. Carol Lindquist. Carol was the heart and soul of the clinical psychology program
and will be greatly missed. Carol will be working on lots of projects including a new book!
