California State University, Fullerton
My name is Catherine Brouillard. I was born and raised in the Northen part of France. I came to California in 1995 to learn English. As I settled down in Orange county, I went to California State University, Fullerton to finish my degree and I finally graduated last summer with a B.A. in Psychology.
I am now a post-baccalaureate student. I am currently taking Advanced Statistics (psych 465) with Dr. Marelich. Although this class requires hours spent outside the class, it IS now possible to finish the midterm (quick reference to the last Psych Day Jeopardy). Thank you for easing the exam!!
I am also taking Advanced Computer Applications (psych 466) with Dr. Birnbaum. This website is a result of that class.
Another assignment for this latter class is to create an experiment. Mine relates to alcohol and drug issues. If you would like to participate in this project, click on the following link: Survey.
Next Fall, I am starting my graduate work at San Diego State University. I have been accepted to their pre-clinical master's program and I will be under the supervision of faculty working on alcohol and drug issues. My ultimate goal is to receive a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. We'll see how far I can go.
For the past two years, I have been working as a research assistant for Dr. Mori, promoted to the position of chief research assistant. Dr. Mori has been a wonderful mentor and gave me many opportunities to learn and improve my knowledge. Our team work has been EXTREMELY rewarding as Dr. Mori gave me first authorship on several projects including a poster presented at the 2002 Western Psychological Association (WPA) convention that won a Psi Chi Award. You can click on the following link to find a copy of the handout given at the convention. Without the generosity of Dr. Mori, I may not have been able to have gone that far.
If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Mori, please click on the following link: Dr. Mori's web page. From her website, you can also find out more about her research interests.
Although Dr. Mori is currently in sabbatical, she is working on an online project regarding driving experiences and attitudes. If you would like to take this quick survey (it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete), please click on the following link: Driving Survey
My personal research interests are on substance use and abuse. I have been working on my senior research project assessing ego identity and ethnicity as potential predictors of substance use. This project is coming to an end with the writing of its manuscript for eventual publication. I REALLY want to thank Dr. Mori and Dr. Stokes for their support to this project.
