In my education page I said that I focused on courses that would help me to work with children in the criminal justice system. My professional goal is to be a child therapist specializing in working with delinquent children. In my opinion children demonstrate a remarkable ability to heal and cope with trauma. The most rewarding job that I can conceive of in therapy is to work with trouble children. The design of my post-graduate education has been to complete my Master of Arts degree, acquire a position in data analysis for a year and pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. The doctoral programs that will be pursued will be focused in child development and child therapy. During my doctoral training, I intended to start working on research studying the precursors to delinquent behavior in abused and non-abused children. Following the completion of my doctorates, my intension is to work with children that are in the six to thirteen year age range. The primary positions that I will pursue are working with municipal services such as hospitals, county psychological services, Child social services, critical incidents response teams and California youth authority. Working with one or more of these public services organizations will fulfill the goals that I set for myself.
