This paper demonstrates that the German language version of the NMR Scale shows levels of reliability and validity that are comparable to those of the English language NMR Scale. Typical patterns of correlations were found with depression and coping. In addition, the NMR Scale demonstrated incremental validty by predicting depression above what was predicted by variables such as coping. Finally, depressed patients showed lower NMR Scale scores than a healthy control group.
