Prediction of symptoms of emotional distress by mood regulation expectancies and affective traits.
International Journal of Psychology, 49, 471-479.
This paper presents three studies conducted in the U.S. and Germany that predicted self-reported emotional distress with NMRE and affective traits (i.e., trait negative affect and trait positive affect). Results showed that NMRE predicted depression and anxiety independent of affective traits. These predictions were both prospective and of diminishment of symptoms over time.
